HL7® FHIR® Certification
Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®) is HL7's next-generation standards framework which builds on, and combines, the best features of the HL7 Version 2 (V2), Version 3 (V3) and Clinical Document Architecture (CDA®) product lines, while leveraging the latest web standards and focusing on the ability to implement.
HL7 FHIR is suitable for use in a wide variety of contexts, such as mobile phone apps, cloud communications, electronic health records (EHR)-based data sharing, server communications in large institutional healthcare provider settings and more.

HL7 FHIR Foundational Implementer Exam
HL7 FHIR Advanced Developer Exam
Prerequisites and Fees
The exams do not require any prerequisties. However, for the FHIR Foundational Implementer Exam, we strongly recommend six months experience using FHIR and an understanding of the basic concepts of XML/JSON and RESTful APIs.
For the FHIR Advanced Developer Exam, we strongly recommend at least one year of experience using FHIR and a passing score on the FHIR Foundational Exam or the previously offered FHIR R4 Proficiency Exam.

Comprehensive HL7 FHIR Foundational Implementer Exam Preparation Course
Prepares participants to take the HL7 FHIR Foundational Implementer Exam.
HL7 FHIR Fundamentals Course
Provides an in-depth overview of FHIR with hands-on experience and tutors assigned to each student. No prior experience required.
HL7 FHIR Intermediate Course
Designed for developers to delve deeper into the standard.
Experience Opportunities
HL7 Work Groups
Volunteer for an HL7 work group and participate by developing a standards specification.
HL7 Working Group Meetings
Attend one of our working group meetings held three times per year at various locations across the U.S. and the globe.
HL7 FHIR Connectathons
Participate in these two-day events of hands-on FHIR development and testing held in conjunction with working group meetings.
HL7 FHIR DevDays
Attend HL7 FHIR DevDays, a unique, in-depth educational experience with FHIR experts including networking and social events.
Cancellation Policy
To be eligible for a refund minus the $50 cancellation fee, you must cancel 120 hours before the examination date. However, if you reschedule or cancel within 120 hours, you will be assessed a $95 fee. No shows will not be eligible for any refund.
